This is intended to be a full-time position.
Pay range: $60,000 - $90,000 plus incentives
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Handle all walk-in clients and prospects.
  • Analyze, generate, and manage qualified Used Equipment Requests. Gather pertinent Information on UER to delegate to appropriate sales personnel.
  • Assist sales staff in sourcing machinery for used equipment requests.
  • Search and identify used machine purchase opportunities.
  • Maintains Used Equipment (UE) request tool and match buyers with machines
  • Provide sales support for the Account Managers for their used equipment needs.
  • Acts as a liaison between Empire and CAT Fi for sourcing Inventory.
  • Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Host Clients at Empire locations to inspect machines/repairs already quoted by Account Manager.
  • Maintain an understanding of basic operation and applications for Caterpillar, Non-Cat Products, and Attachments.
  • Maintain an understanding of all shipping and receiving for all machines and attachments for Empire.
  • Maintain an understanding of the service process for all used machines and attachments coming through Empire Locations. In depth understand of this process from start to finish.
  • Become proficient in the use of Empire Used suite of tools on Empire Intranet.
  • Become proficient in the use of Caterpillar SIMSi (Service Information Management System), and [please apply online]
  • Become proficient in the use of the Caterpillar Infocast website to secure technical specifications and performance of all Caterpillar products.
  • Maintain an understanding of the merchandising programs both with Empire and Cat Finance. Proficient with the use of “T” value and /or finance terms to be able to accurately quote payments for sales promotions.
  • Work within and promote corporate values.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Sufficient computer skills to utilize Empire’s internal and external software programs including Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to work cooperatively with people and assist in executing sales transactions.
  • Must comprehend equipment specifications, price lists, catalogs, and common industry publications/reference material.
  • Must perform common sales calculations quickly and accurately, and be familiar with financing, taxes, etc., Must have ability to develop working knowledge of wholesale and retail used equipment markets and an in-depth knowledge of entire Caterpillar product line and applications.
  • Must have the ability to develop the mechanical aptitude to relate to mechanical applications and failures for Caterpillar construction products and work tools.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
  • Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 4 year college degree preferred, 2 year college degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years Caterpillar Dealer or closely related industry experience preferably in Sales/Service .
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
